Founded in 2012, ZEE® began with Peter, a proud father and grandfather, who had a vision to create a unique design product from scratch.As an agent for various design accessory brands in the BELUX market, Peter realized that standing out in a world where everything seemed to be (re-)designed was a challenge. His inspiration struck in the realm of garden accessories, specifically with the garden hose reel. Peter's passion for product development led to the birth of ZEE®.

The name ZEE® means "sea" in Dutch, and fittingly, their first product was named "mirtoon," after a Mediterranean sea. This product launch earned the prestigious "Herman Van De Velde label." True to their theme, all ZEE® products are named after seas.

In 2014, Peter partnered with Luc to officially establish the company ZEE® BV. Luc, a dedicated husband and proud father of two daughters, is an agent and distributor of various well known design brands in furniture and accessories for the home and garden, brought his expertise in sales and marketing to the team. Together with an international team, they have made ZEE® a globally recognized brand.

ZEE® collaborates with national designers and boasts an international portfolio. Following the successful launches of the Levantine shower and Tasman Trolley, ZEE® introduced the Koro barbecue, which won the prestigious "German Design Award Winner 2025."
